How to connect PS4 controller to iPhone and iPad

Many people prefer to connect the controller of their favorite console to the iPhone or iPad, so that they have physical controls rather than using those on the device screen.

Apple has long allowed players to use some Bluetooth controllers on iOS and iPadOS. You can use most Bluetooth controllers, for example you can connect the Xbox One  or PS4 controllers to iPhone and iPad .

In this article we will focus on the PS4 controller and show you how to connect and configure it with your Apple device.

Connect PS4 controller to iPhone or iPad

Before starting the procedure that allows the connection of the PS4 controller to the iOS or iPadOS device, make sure that the controller is turned off and is near the Apple device.

Press and hold the "PS" and "Share" controller buttons simultaneously until the LEDs start flashing.

Access the settings of your Apple device.

Press on the item "Bluetooth".

Find the name of the PS4 controller and press on it.

From now on you can use the PS4 controller to play on iPhone or iPad.

Most games will automatically detect the controller, for some I should set it from the game settings instead.

How to disconnect the PS4 controller from iPhone or iPad

If you no longer want to use the PS4 controller on iPhone and iPad, you can easily disconnect it via the Bluetooth settings of your Apple device.

The procedure is identical to the one you use to disconnect any Bluetooth device from iPhone or iPad:

·         Access the "Settings" of iOS or iPadOS
·         Press on the item "Bluetooth"
·         Touch the "i" next to the name of the PS4 controller
·         Click on the item "Disassociate this device" .
